The Mural Impulse

Murals have been with us since the beginning. From cave paintings of Lascaux, to frescoes of Pompeii, to painted ceilings of soaring cathedrals, and beyond. Humans have always decorated the architecture around them. And murals are one of the most versatile art forms to do so. From turning corners, spilling onto the ceiling, or trailing onto floors, murals know no bounds. 

What we offer

  • Dream It

    We begin with a consultation to determine your design dreams. From finding what influences speak to you, to figuring out if your mural needs to match the curtains, we’ll dig through your likes and dislikes. And at the end of this process, we’ll have a mood board and the beginnings of a plan.

  • Design It

    In this phase, I dive deep into the world of books, museums, paints, pictures, and a myriad other sources to dig up the perfect seeds to start our design. I then work through a series of sketches to refine ideas, with color work alongside. I carefully craft two design options for your mural.  We’ll do a round of revisions on your favorite design. Then, once you give your final approval, we can get started on making your mural a reality!

  • Create It

    It’s time to bring your art to life! I’ll be in the space painting, so you can watch the creation of your piece in real time. So much love and labor goes into this phase.

  • Enjoy It

    Sit back, relax, and enjoy your custom mural! You now have an immersive piece of art to bring you joy for years to come.

Mural FAQs

  • I offer interior (and some exterior) murals for commercial, residential, and hospitality spaces. These can be full treatments of spaces, or simply to add decoration to portions of a room.

  • Murals are priced by square footage. I have sliding square footage rate of $40-55/sq. ft. It varies by the complexity of the design, the difficulty of the surface, and other factors. The cost is inclusive of the consultations, research, design, revisions, supplies, painting and installation. Travel and equipment rentals are priced separately. The project minimum is currently $3,500.

  • I love to make sure that each project is brought thoughtfully to life, and this requires a good amount of run-up. Timelines usually begin in the 6-8 week range, though preparations can begin months in advance. Please contact me if you need to discuss a rush timeline.

  • I do indeed! I am happy to travel for murals. I currently have murals in eight states and over fourteen cities.
